Forbidden City
yeah~ those photos were taken just now at the esplanade. It's my first musical concert at the Esplanade and my first time looking out from the esplanade at such a high level. haha! suaku hor~
anyway, it was a coincidence that both cheng hyork and wen jian are watching on the same day as me and cf. so we met to have dinner before setting off for this splendid rendition. we sat at the 4th level. and it would have been perfect if not for the fact that we could not see the expressions of the artistes. Their singings were marvellous and one thing that really attracted me was the Chinese setting. The er hu, the sheng and the various chinese instrument weaved together to produce melodious pieces. Dick Lee was successful in orchestrating such pieces. thumbs uP! mayb cos I'm a little 'china', thus bias. haha and the various pieces were belted with gusto by the artistes which truly deserve our thunderous applause.
felt kinda amazed that the troops can coordinate so well with the orchestra. definitely, their tremendous effort is discernable in such a successful play. Besides the serious conversations that we may expect, a tinge of humour was added into the play, that was so well developed by the 2 comediennes which led to the laughter of many. At the end of the show, I even bought the forbidden city CD and its booklet to keep as souvenir. haha~!
Actually, find esplanade theatre a really beautiful theatre. It makes me feel like i'm in london watching a play! oH yeaH! i shall have more of such plays when i am over there!
